Banana Boat sunscreen lotion has been clinically proven to protect skin of people of all ages under a variety of special conditions as with high activity level playing sports, or when active near the water boating, or at the beach. Robert Bell originally developed the product in 1981 and it’s packaging hadn’t changed much since then, making it a prime candidate for a redesign. Playful hand drawn illustrations give the new packaging a more natural, less clinical feel. The new design also highlights different variations of the product: Sunscreen for Babies, Kids, and Sports in a way to unify the brands visual identity, featuring similarly styled images of different subject matter. Special consideration given to typography helps hold a lot of information in a relatively small space with a less crowded appearance.
